Velvet Joann (Snow) Oxendine Lovett, 63, Brazil, passed away Jan. 28, 2011, at the Exceptional Living Center, Brazil, following a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Otto and Flossie (Bemis) Snow.

Joann graduated from Gerstmeyer High School with the class of 1965. Following high school, Joann worked for General Housewares, Terre Haute. She also worked at Boston Scientific, Spencer, and most recently Goodwill Industries, Brazil.

Joann retired last year due to failing health.

Joann married Bill Lovett Nov. 11, 1995. He survives.

Joann enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working with photography.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Flossie Snow, and stepson Bill Allen Lovett.

Joann leaves behind her husband Bill, daughter Debra Bryan and husband Derek, granddaughters Tailor, Samantha and Lauren, all of Terre Haute, step-children Debbie Waymire, Brazil, Bobbi Lovett, Brazil, Ginger Lovett, West Terre Haute, and Crissy Lawson and husband Brandon, Brazil, 17 step-grandchildren, 20 step-great-grandchildren, sisters Reva Allsup, California, Doris Hire and husband Jim, Terre Haute, Lavone Channey and husband Ed, Oklahoma, Dianna Harlan, Terre Haute, and Wanda Sullivan and husband Charlie, Terre Haute, brother Tony Snow and wife Linda, Terre Haute, and Rickie Snow and wife Barbie, Arizona, as well as several extended family members.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dick McShanog officiating.
