The Indiana State Police Putnamville District -- representing Parke, Putnam, Vermillion, Vigo, Clay and Sullivan counties -- reported it operated through the storm Tuesday without "major incidents."

All state roads and highways were slick and hazardous, but traffic moved slow and cautious.

All secondary roads were slick and hazardous. Traffic on Interstate-70 was running slow but otherwise, normal.

The ice and rain mix continued to fall throughout the evening and several residents in the district reported power outages.

Troopers did investigate two crashes, seven slide-offs and assisted four motorists that were mechanically disabled.

Those calls were on I-70 and U.S. 41 south of Terre Haute.

Other roadways in the district were mostly quiet.

Troopers responded to multiple calls of down power lines in Vigo County.

Motorists were encouraged to travel only when necessary, slow down and use extra caution if travel is a must.

In addition, residents are asked to not call law enforcement dispatch centers for road and weather information.

Rather, call 1-800-261-7623 or log on to www.trafficwise.in.gov for up-to-date information.
