Red Cross shelters now closed

TERRE HAUTE -- With power restored and all shelter residents returning to their homes, the need for sheltering has ended.

All American Red Cross shelters in the Wabash Valley have been closed.

If someone wants to help people affected by the storm in the Wabash Valley or those affected by the thousands of disasters across the country and around the world, they can visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Contributions may also be sent to the Wabash Valley Chapter at 700 S. 3rd St., Terre Haute, Ind., 47807, or to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37243, Washington, D.C., 20013.

The American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter serves Clay, Greene, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties in Indiana and Edgar County in Illinois.
