Local senior facility honored

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Exceptional Living Center of Brazil, a not-for-profit senior living and rehabilitation facility recently announced it earned a 4-star CMS rating.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and help identify areas people may want to ask questions.

Nursing home ratings are taken from the following three sources of data: Health inspection surveys, staffing data and quality measures.

The three areas are then combined to calculate an overall rating.

Exceptional Living Center of Brazil provides care to its residents, whether through its short-term stay rehabilitation program featuring physical, occupational and speech therapy services for seniors, Earle's Village Memory Care Neighborhood for those suffering from Alzheimer's disease or dementia or the organization's long-term care services.

For more information on the business, call 446-2636. Exceptional Living Center of Brazil is located at 501 S. Murphy Ave., Brazil.
