The topic of the meeting will be the Kernan-Shepard Report and how its recommendations will effect local government.
The guest speaker will be Jamie Palmer, who served as project manager for the Indiana Commission on Local Government Reform, from which the Kernan-Shepard Report came.
Palmer is a professional planner and researcher. She joined the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, now part of the Indiana University Public Policy Institute, in May 1993.
In addition to her work at the Center, Palmer serves as the Associate Director for the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (IACIR).
She manages the commission's research and periodic surveys of local governments.
Those interested in attending the meeting do not need to be a member of the Clay County Republican Club. However, membership is available for those wishing to join.
The membership fee is $10 per year.
