Serving on the Streets hosting fundraiser

Sunday, February 13, 2011

Serving on the Streets (S.O.S.) will conduct its annual dessert fundraiser and silent auction Friday, Feb. 18, at North Clay Middle School.

The event will help raise money to support the many programs of S.O.S. It is scheduled for 7-9 p.m.

Any item or items people may donate for the silent auction are encouraged.

S.O.S. is a non-denominational Christian ministry that reaches out to low-income children and families in the Brazil area.

It was created almost six years ago by long-time Clay County resident Jenni Chamberlain.

Chamberlain managed to create Kid's Club at Central West Village six years ago and since then, the ministry has expanded to include multiple programs that minister to more than 400 children each week.

For more information regarding the fundraising event, or to reserve a seat or table, call event coordinator Kaylee McCollom at 812-208-2457 or e-mail fuzztwins@frontier.com.
