She was born June 16, 1936, in Greene County, the daughter of Joseph and Thelma Burger Hutchison.
She was a graduate of Jasonville High School, Class of 1955.
On Nov. 20, 1959, she married the love of her life, Donald Fritz. Thelma Jo was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
She enjoyed caring for her home, reading, and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her family including her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Friendly Open Bible Community Church and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She will be sadly missed by her family and a host of friends.
Survivors include her husband Don, son Jeff Fritz and wife Carol, daughter Lisa Halfhill and husband Steve, all of Clay City, grandchildren Kacie, Darcie, and Bradie Fritz and Skyler Halfhill, all of Clay City, one sister Linda Matteson and husband Jim, Hymera, sisters-in-law Brenda Hutchison, Linton, Audrey Fritz, Clay City, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosemary and Jerry Stephens, Bowling Green, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thelma Jo was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Donnie Hutchinson and brother-in-law, Melvin Fritz.
Services will take place Thursday, at 11 a.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with Revs. Brad West and Gordon Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m.
