The Brazil Times American Cancer Society's 2011 Clay County Relay For Life Team, the "Clark Kent Super Group," is sponsoring Clay County's best Peanut Butter Cookie Contest Monday.
Entries may be brought to The Times' office between 1-2 p.m., with judging to begin at 2 p.m.
Entry fees will be $5 for Clay County residents and $10 for businesses in the county. All proceeds will be used to support Relay For Life.
The winning entry will receive $25, a three-month subscription to the newspaper, their picture in the paper and bragging rights.

The Clay Community School Corporation recently revised its 2010-11 school calendar.
Due to the ice storm, which wreaked havoc in the area earlier this month, changes were made.
The teacher in-service day, originally scheduled for Friday, April 15, has been moved to Monday, June 6.
School will be in session April 15.
If the corporation has additional cancellations, it is anticipated the days will be added to the end of the school year.
The Clay County Health Department has available free smoking cessation counseling and smoking cessation products.

The Clay County Redevelopment Commission will conduct its monthly meeting on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., at the Clay County Commissioner's Courtroom.

Donations Being Accepted
Century 21 Hometown Realty, 1605 E. National Ave., Brazil, is currently accepting donations for a food drive for the Clay County Humane Shelter.
Those interested are encouraged to donate name brand pet food and enter for a chance to win a Walmart Gift Card.
The drive deadline has been set for today.
Those donating food may enter for the gift card Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the business.

The Brazil Senior Citizens Center and the Clay County Health Department have teamed together to offer diabetes education classes at the center.
The meetings will take place on the first Friday of the month at noon.
The Clay County Historical Society has closed the doors of the museum for the winter months.
The museum will re-open March 14.
There will be no membership meeting until March 7, 2011.

The Clay County 4-H Horse and Pony Club will conduct its annual Chili Supper and Tack Auction today, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.
Chili will be served at 5 p.m., with the auction set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The meal will consist of chili, ham and beans, hot dogs, nachos, desserts and drinks.
All proceeds from the event will be used for expansion and maintenance of the horse facilities at the fairgrounds and the club's activities.

The fourth Bingo for Baskets Fundraiser will take place today, at Cloverdale Middle School.
Doors to the event are scheduled to open at 6 p.m., with Bingo beginning at 6:30.
Those interested in attending must be 18 to play. Tickets are $15 for 20 games of Bingo.

The Town and Country United Methodist Men will meet at the Bethel United Methodist Church Saturday, at 8 a.m.
The first meeting in January was canceled due to slick road conditions.
The March meeting will take place March 12, at Peniel United Methodist Church. The March meeting will be the first of six Lenten breakfasts, all at 8 a.m., on Saturdays.
All men are invited to join the group for the breakfast meetings.

The YMCA of Clay County will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for its Strong Kids Campaign Saturday.
The event will run from 4:30-7 p.m., in the Community Room at the Y.

The Northview High School band program will host its annual Pops Concert/Chicken Noodle Dinner Sunday, Feb. 27.
Dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
There are two concerts scheduled for the event and will feature the North Clay Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade bands, NCMS jazz band, Northview jazz band and band. The concert performances will be in the NHS auditorium and will also feature guest artist Brad Weil of the United States Marine Band.
In addition, the Northview percussion ensemble, North Clay Cadet Corp, Northview Indoor Percussion unit and Northview Winter Guard will perform in the high school gymnasium at 1:30 p.m.
The Staunton Tuesday Euchre Group will begin games again soon.
The group plans to reconvene for games at the Staunton Community Center Tuesday, March 1.
All games begin at 12:45 p.m. All are open to the public and beginners are welcome.
