The students who participate in the class take time out to construct a home annually.
The program is in its 37th year of existence.
Dan Dragon currently instructs the class and the assistant instructor is Rod Clarke.
This year, the juniors and seniors in the program are building the 37th project home and 13th in the program's exclusive subdivision of Clay View Estates.
At the start of the school year, students laid the foundation block. Currently, they are applying veneer plaster, drywall taping and kitchen bulkhead assembly in the new home, which is totally bricked, closed in and heated.
"We're about halfway done," Dragon said.
He added the home could be finished by the middle of June and is located at 1726 E. Bill Brown Court. Brown was the first instructor for the program.
Participating students include Ben Crafton, Josh Moreland, Ben Jordan, Daniel Michael, Tanner Glenn, Garrett Sowers, Jeff Stough, A.J. Anderson, Brad Smith, Seth Whitaker, Levi Pollard and Taylor Smith from Northview High School, and Chris Davis, Kyle Pruiett, Zack Huffman and Matt Ethridge from Clay City.
An open house for the home will take place later this summer.
