The sweet aroma of chicken and noodles floated through Northview High School Sunday during the band program's annual Pops Concert/Chicken Dinner.
The dinner was served by NHS band boosters from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event featured guest artist Staff Sgt. Brad Weil, member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band. Weil was able to attend the event thanks to grant money the band program received from the Pepsi Refresh Everything Foundation.

Weil performed with Northview and North Clay students in two concerts in the school's auditorium.
The North Clay seventh-grade band, North Clay jazz band, Northview band, North Clay eighth-grade band and Northview jazz band all performed.
In addition, the Northview percussion ensemble, North Clay Cadet Corps, Northview Indoor Percussion unit and Northview Winter Guard all performed for guests.

Representatives from Pepsi also delivered the program's grant money earnings Sunday. The program, in conjunction with other programs within the corporation, earned a $50,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Everything Foundation after winning a $25,000 grant earlier this school year.
