He was born July 14, 1929 in Michigan, the son of Robert Evans and Gladys Evans Williams.
Bob served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW No. 1127. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 2, Moose Lodge, and the Eagles. He worked as a carpenter for CDI until he retired due to health problems.
He married Marjorie Carr on November 6, 1987.
Bob enjoyed playing cards, fishing and Nascar. He attended the Ashboro United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Evans and Gladys Evans Williams, stepfather Charles Williams, son Rick Evans, granddaughter Natasha Evans, and sisters Marcella Cartwright and Linda Fonts.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie of Brazil, his sons Bobby Evans and wife Jean-ann of Terre Haute, David Evans of Terre Haute, Tony Evans of Terre Haute and Stephen Evans of Alabama; his step-daughter Marilyn Inabnit and husband Jerry of Brazil; step-sons Rick Youngblood of Brazil, and Harvey Youngblood and wife Nancy of Terre Haute; brother Billy Williams of Carbon; sister Josephine Harris; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at French Funeral Home with Rev. Myron James officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Ashboro Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-7 p.m., with military walk-through at 6:30 p.m.
