Third Annual Mission Event

Center Point United Methodist Church will be hosting their 3rd annual Mission Event on Sunday, March 6. A free concert featuring P150 begins at 2 p.m. A pie auction at 3 p.m., followed by a chili supper at 4:30 p.m.

All proceeds will used to support mission activities, including a Mission Trip to Haiti in July.

Local Veterinarian Awarded Certificate

The Indiana Veterinary Medical Association has awarded Certificates of Excellence in Education to 53 veterinarians throughout the state in recognition of their commitment to excellence in the health care of the state's animal population.

Dr. Rick Rodgers of Knightsville was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Education.

Award recipients must have completed at least 40 hours of continuing education during the past year. Certification is renewable annually upon meeting the required educational standards.

Fourth Annual Women's Conference

The Fourth Annual God's Passion Revealed Women's Conference begins today and will continue through Saturday, nightly at 7 p.m. at the Coalmont Community Baptist Church.

We prepared to be excited, challenged and held to a high place as you come and seek God's face with us on God Directed - Womanly Stewardship.

Featured speakers are Candis Oswalt, Rebecca Parker, Jeannette Parrot, Marlena Cano and Amy Buitron.

Ball State University

Ball State University has announced the names of students who graduated and/or were included on the dean's list and/or graduate list during the fall 2010 semester.

Brazil: Jessica Booker, Brittany Campbell, Kyle Hayes, Hannah Hoopingarner and Michael King.

Clay City: Colleen Wiley.

Ball State is a state-supported university with a current enrollment of about 20,000 graduate and undergraduate students.

Frugal Friends Party

Come to Brazil Public Library and learn a fun way to save money.

On March 7, at 1:30 p.m. the Brazil Public Library, 204 N. Walnut St., will be having a Frugal Friends Party. Learn new places to find coupons and how to receive them.

Bring your unwanted coupons, along with your favorite websites to share with others. The average coupon clipper saves $5 to $50 per week.

Frugal Friends Party will meet by the fireplace.

Tri Kappa Basket Bingo

The Alpha Belta Chapter of Tri Kappa will be hosting their annual bingo fundraiser on Thursday, March 17. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Owen Valley Middle School, Spencer.

The event will feature baskets by Longaberger. Tickets are $10, and must be purchased in advance at Hammond's Florist or by calling 812-829-4286. State law prohibits anyone under 18 years of age to be in attendance during the event.

Tri Kappa is a non-for-profit philanthropic organization supporting culture, charity and education.

Delta Theta Tau Sorority Crafty Bear Fare

The Mooresville chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority is sponsoring their annual Crafty Bear Fare on Saturday, April 9, 2011, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Mooresville High School. There is no admission fee. There will be food and door prizes.

Delta Theta Tau is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the event are used for scholarships and other philanthropic projects.
