He was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Clay County, as the son of Orville and Mildred Kirkling Albright. He graduated from Brazil High School and shortly afterward began a 37-and-a-half-year career in management with IBM in Greencastle and Mechanicsburg, Pa. He married Shirley Lucas, who preceded him in death July 23, 2008. His two passions were his family and his work at IBM. He also enjoyed working with computers, playing golf, tennis and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, and first-born grandchild Erik Lawrence.
He is survived by daughters Dr. Rhonda Lawrence (Jim), Toni Johnson (Jack), and Sheila Cheek (Bob Smith), son William Albright (Joni), sisters Marge Adkins and Marilyn Mathis, grandchildren Derek and Dustin Lawrence, Jennifer Sanchez (Phil), Jeremy Johnson, Brittney Hill (David), and Michael Albright, great-grandchild Sofie Sanchez, and other extended family.
Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide graveside funeral services, 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Calcutta Cemetery, with Derek Lawrence officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis Ind., 46209-4830.
