Marion Dale Robbins Jr., 55, Brazil, died unexpectedly March 5, 2011, at 2:45 a.m., at Union Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1955, in Brazil, the son of Marion "Skip" Robbins Sr., and Beatrice Cooper Robbins.
Dale was raised in Carbon and he attended Van Buren High School.
He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
As a young man, he worked for Marion Brick.
For the past 30-plus years, he has worked at Multi-Packaging Solutions, MPS, previously known as Ivy Hill.
On May 9, 1979, he married Delilah Stearley Robbins, and she survives.
Dale used to enjoy fishing and going mushroom hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Robbins.
Survivors include his wife Delilah, daughters Heidi Torbert Murff and husband Charles, Clarksville, Tenn., and Rhiannon Booe and husband Ryan, Clay City, son Christopher Robbins and wife Kasey, Brazil, grandchildren Haley Murff, Morgan Murff, Kylie Booe, Nicolas Booe and Molly Booe, brothers Brad Robbins and wife Robin, Willisburg, Ky., Levan Robbins and wife Barbara, and Frank Robbins, all of Lexington, Ky., and Kevin Robbins, Terre Haute, sisters Regina Robbins, Lexington, Ky., and Renae Meadows and husband Ed, Grand Junction, Colo., many nieces, nephews and extended family, including Delilah's Stearley family.
Services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Kumpf officiating.
Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Military graveside rites will be provided by American Legion Post 2 and V.F.W. Post 1127.
