The Posey Township Volunteer Department conducted its "Firefighter of the Year" banquet Saturday, March 5, at the First Christian Church, Staunton. Following a tally of votes, Fire Chief Larry Tempel (center) announced EMS Lt. Michael Rost (left) and Lt. Cody Barnard (right) were named Co-Firemen of the Year. This was the first time in the department's 54-year history a tie had taken place.

This was not the first time there was a tie.

The very first year for the award was a tie between Wayne Lucas and Jerry Peebles.
