Florence was born in Clay County, April 4, 1915, to Jesse and Ida (Schiele) Liechty. Mrs. Burns married Clifford A. Burns in December 1933, he preceded her in death in 1996. Florence and Clifford owned and lived on a farm south of Brazil for many years. Mrs. Burns was a member of the Berea Christian Church and had previously attended the Forest Avenue United Methodist Church. Florence will be remembered as a quiet lady and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, four daughters in infancy, one grandson, two sisters Etelka Muncie and Leora Liechty, and two brothers Paul Liechty and Emerson Liechty.
Survivors include her two sons Argyll L. Burns and wife Roberta, Brazil, and Robert Burns and wife Sandra, Tuscon, Ariz., daughter Alberta Anderson and husband Terry, Indianapolis, grandchildren Cheryl (Dave) Williams, Randy (Debbie) Burns, Steve (Pam) Burns, all of Brazil, Kathy Foreman and fiancÚ Scott, Kirk (Jolie) Anderson, all of Indianapolis, Brad (Melinda) Burns, Seattle, Wash., Chrisi (Tony) Grimes, Indianapolis, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Tuesday March 15, 2011, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 11am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berea Christian Church 1995 N. CR 800 N. Brazil, Ind., 47834.
