Details are limited at this time, but officials have confirmed a local man is in custody for allegations of rape.

According to information provided by the Brazil City Police Department, Justimiano Rodriguez, 27, Brazil, was arrested for rape, battery, sexual battery and criminal confinement for his alleged involvement in an incident involving an unidentified female victim at a Brazil home.

The case came to light when the father of the victim contacted authorities around 11:30 p.m., Wednesday.

According to officials, Rodriguez allegedly didn't stop his sexual advances "when told no" by the victim, who was attempting to leave the residence.

Further details are not available at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of the victim.

Rodriguez remains incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center on a $25,000 cash bond (with no 10 percent allowed) to await formal court proceedings.

Wow~! What a bunch of bigots! I am just as ashamed to share the town with you people, as I am someone who commits these types of crimes. You all should be ashamed.

How many articles do we see a Caucasian arrested for the same crimes?

Did you all fail history, or did you pretend to be home sick the day they taught that us Caucasians were not from this land either. Maybe the Native Americans should have sent us packing back to our ancestor's homelands?

I am a Caucasian and proud to be an American, but I am not proud to share it with those that make such comments as the ones above.

Once again racism rears its ugly head in Brazil. It doesn't matter what a person's nationality is, rape is rape and no is no! What about the good ole local white boys doing the same thing? Judgement is for the one person against the said crime! and from what I can tell he's not been found guilty yet. What's both sides of the story and let the law determine it from there and how about let's all join the 21st century and leave the racism out of it.

From what I've seen lately coming out of Brazil most of the crimes committed there are done by the "stand up white folk"

"Wow does this really surprise anyone?"...not about the alleged crime or the accused, but that there is bigotry in this county?

I am so glad I am just a transplant to this community and that I was never born here....I'd hate to claim this area as my hometown....Where I am from it was a huge melting pot of all race, creed and ethnic groups and surprisingly we all got along because we weren't raised to hate or judge people for who they are like so MANY of you do down here. You should ALL be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!!!

Thank you Brazil Times for removing those comments. They were indecent, and racist, and were a shameful thing to see on our community's newspaper.

AIDEN (and friends) .. shut up. You have nothing worthwhile to contribute to this article. Be glad ignorance and stupidity don't result in jail time or you'd be behind bars for a long time.

If this man is found guilty, he should pay for his actions .. not for his nationality.

Why is it the ones who throw the most stones in this county are the ones who live in glass houses?

-- Posted by grays on Fri, Mar 18, 2011, at 12:12 PM

He has yet to be proven guilty and if a jury finds he is guilty, then he should pay for his crime but to make reference to his nationality is just wrong. I for one would want any person guilty of sexual assult put away for a long time for the crime not his ethnicity.

I've got a question for "clgruener". Please correct me if I'm wrong. But it appears you are calling EVERYBODY in this entire area a racist. Did you not read the comments made by "Just Plain Bill", "Emmes", "Oldtown", "ClayCountyGuy", and "Dyna1", JUST to name a few? What you said is almost as bad as some of those others on here earlier talking bad about his nationality. Shame on you. I've been all over this world of ours and the bottom line is there are good people everywhere. Just like there are bad people everywhere. No place, and nobody, is perfect. I, for one, am proud to be a member of this community.

Well, WHITEBOY .. that's because the comments about your friends are true .. the other ones weren't.

Very well put Jed! It's good to see someone else knows hypocrisy when it is so blatant.
