'Hoops for Hope' coordinator offers thanks
To the Editor:
The recent fundraiser for Relay For Life, "Hoops for Hope," was an overwhelming success.
I want to thank everyone who volunteered to help in some way: All the basketball players and staff from both Northview and North Clay schools, referees, cheerleaders, Northview band and band boosters, as well as all the students, parents and community members who came to watch and support the teams.
Also, I must mention The Riddell Bank for posting our information on their scrolling marquee and The Brazil Times for telling our stories.
We all had so much fun and earned an unbelievable amount of money for Relay For Life.
Originally when I started planning, I thought if we made $1,000 from this, it would be a good amount.
We actually earned $4,000! How awesome is that?
Relay For Life benefits from our endeavors, but also just as important is all the school spirit that was generated.
We sometimes forget how much our schools mean to all of us and we need the school spirit to continue.
Just in case you are wondering, yes, we will make this a yearly event.
Again, thank you all so much,
Northview High School
