The Clay County Democrat Club has scheduled its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner for Friday, April 8.
The event will take place at Traditions, 105 E. National Ave., Brazil. Dinner is set for 6 p.m.
The featured speaker will be John Gregg.
Gregg is a former Democratic State Representative in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1986-2002.
During that time, Gregg served as Speaker of the House from 1996-2002, and Majority Leader from 1990-94.
He was also a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008 and served as Honorary Chairman of the Hillary Clinton for President, Indiana Campaign.
He was interim president of Vincennes University -- the state's oldest college -- from 2003-04.
He graduated from Vincennes in 1974, Indiana University in 1976, Indiana State University in 1978, and the Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis in 1984.
He is a partner of the law firm Bingham McHale LLP.
In 2008, Gregg wrote, "From Sandborn to the Statehouse," detailing his career in politics. He is reportedly working on a second book.
He has also hosted a radio call-in show in Indianapolis since 1999.
In recent months, it has been reported Gregg is mulling a gubernatorial run.
