Sunday, April 3, 2011

The Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution is inviting the public to its Genealogy Workshop April 30, from 1-5 p.m., at the Putnam County Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

Reservations are not required. For more information, contact JoAn Nichols at joanichols@juno.com.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is 18-older, regardless of race or religion or ethnic background and who can prove direct lineal bloodline descent from a man or woman who, with unfailing loyalty to the cause of American Independence, served as a patriot in the Colonies or States during the American Revolution.

Those who do not know if they have such a patriot will receive assistance from the group in researching for ancestors.
