The National Weather Service (NWS) based in Indianapolis issued a Flood Advisory for southern Clay County at approximately 1 p.m., Monday.
The advisory will remain in effect until midnight Tuesday.
At 12:55 p.m., NWS Doppler Radar indicated approximately 2-inches of rain had fallen in the area since early Monday morning.
According to NWS, "runoff from the excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur, especially along small streams and near low water crossings."
According to the service, additional rainfall was expected Monday afternoon.
