Northview places sixth in finals

The Northview High School Winter Guard season came to an official end Saturday after the Knights placed sixth overall in the Scholastic World Division Finals of Winter Guard International.

Northview finished with a score of 91.30.

Carmel High School won the event with a 97.10, while James Logan High School was second at 95.45, followed by Flanagan High School (93.90), Avon High School (92.45), Trumbull High School (91.35) and Northview.

Placing seventh was Seminole High School at 89.55, followed by Arcadia High School (88.30), Marian Catholic High School (87.95), Warren Central High School (86.05), Center Grove High School (84.20), West Johnston High School (83.85), Lawrence Central High School (82.90), Norwin High School (82.20), and Americas High School (81.00).

The 2011 Color Guard World Championships took place at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.

It was a three-day competition, with finals taking place Saturday.

Members of the NHS group include Mackenzie Brush, Baileigh Burns, Darci Chambers, Katie Jo Coltharp, Amy Cunningham, Millie France, Bobbie Gorby, Sydney Hayes, Macy Mayle, Kendra McCrea, Sara Mills, Haley Morris, Caitlin Stemm, Samantha Squires and Sydney Whitaker.
