Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club

The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension club held their March 24 meeting at the Senior Citizens Center hosted by Rose Mary Price.

President Ruth Haas called the meeting to order with all repeating the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemakers Creed. For devotions, she read "Cowboy Poetry."

Twelve members answered roll call by naming something they started but not yet finished.

Barbara Powell led in singing, "I'm looking over a four leaf clover," and "Happy Birthday," to Norma Diel, Lauralee Hawkins and Rose Mary.

The secretary's and treasurer's reports were ready by Glenna Ogborn and approved.

Shirley Koehler's health and safety report was "You are only as old as you think." Norma's citizenship report covered Cass Township.

Several business matters were discussed. Sign-up for next year's lessons and sign-up times for the fairs ice cream wagon and exhibit hall were taken care of.

A spring district meeting report was read. Items are needed for the FNP. The Homemaker's Workshop is April 12, at 6:30 p.m., at the 4-H Fairgrounds.

Carmen Jackson gave the lesson, "Eat this, not that." The closing prayer was sung.

Other members present were Marilyn Bott, Bobbi Cayton, Ann Carol Harden and Ann Stigler.

The next meeting will be April 28, at 1 p.m., at the home of Norma Diel.

Tri County Community Club

The Tri-County Community Club met at the home of Diana Nees with Roberta Nees as co-hostess. A fantastic meal was served with Wilma Holsapple giving the blessing.

The afternoon meeting was opened by our President Gerry Cundiff by all repeating the Pledge of Allegiance and the club creed.

The surprise package was won by Sandy Maines.

The hostess gifts were wone by Evelyn Rubeck and Shelly Blyth. Devotions were by Rhonda Tincher, "Home."

Roll call by Pat Kaster was answered by 14 members stating their favorite pie.

We all had wonderful memories of Marilyn Eckerman and shared them.

The secretary's report was given by Pat Kaster and approved.

We had four guests, Bonnie Hardwick, Kathy Sclight and Elizabeth LaFary. Elizabeth became a new member.

The treasurer's report was given by Evelyn Rubeck and approved.

The card report was reported by Juanita Neese with several cards being sent for the month.

The hospital report was given by Juanita Neese and approved.

Our ways and means committee decided to have a homemade bake sale at the Clay County Courthouse on the first Monday in May, on May 2. On the first Monday in November, we will be serving breakfast and lunch. All are welcomed to come and eat with us.

On April 10, Roberta and Wayne Neese will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Poland Firehouse. Happy Anniversary.

We wish Sandy Maines a happy birthday.

The meeting was closed with all repeating the Lord's Prayer.
