TERRE HAUTE -- The Northview 'B' and 'C' baseball teams had a rough go of it on the road at West Vigo Wednesday night, dropping a pair of close contests.
The 'B' team allowed five runs to the Vikings in the first inning, which held up in a 6-4 defeat.
Stephen Watts lasted just 1/3 of an inning while giving up five hits, five runs and walking four batters. Trevor Hetrick came in and settled the game down over the final 4 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits and a run while striking out three West Vigo hitters.
Bryant Pestoff drove in three runs with a hit, Tanner Glenn doubled and both Devin Clark and Tyler Wilson added base hits.
In the 'C' game, the Vikings answered a Northview run in the first inning with two of their own on the way to a 4-2 victory.
Jacob Wallace pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up three hits, four runs and three walks. Connor Ganly finished the game over the final 1 2/3 innings, didn't allow a hit or a run while striking out four Vikings.
Ethan Whitson had an RBI with a double in a 2-for-3 night at the plate. Denver Reberger was 2-for-2, Jacob Wallace, Steven Phillips, Ganly and Brett Warren each had a base hit.
The 'C' team hosts Terre Haute South at 5 p.m. on Friday.
