The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Heavy Trash

The City of Brazil's Sanitation Department will conduct heavy trash pickup on the following Fridays in April, based on normal trash pickup schedule:

* Today -- Wednesday's trash route, and

* Friday, April 29 -- Thursday's trash route.

Heavy trash pickup must be reserved and may be done by calling City Hall at 443-2221 or the Brazil City Street Department at 448-8501.

Roundup

Clay Community Elementary Schools will host Kindergarten Roundups through the month of April.

Below is a list of school registrations by day and time:

* Meridian Elementary -- Monday, 6:30 p.m., and

* Staunton Elementary -- Tuesday, 9 a.m.

Pancakes!

The Vigo County Conservation Club will host its annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday, from 7-10 a.m.

Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 10-under.

The event will take place at the conservation club, 10382 Grotto Rd., Terre Haute.

Taste Treat!

Delta Theta Tau will host a Taste Treat Luncheon Saturday, at North Clay Middle School.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cost is $10 for a ticket.

Those attending will receive a cookbook at the door.

There will be 25 recipes in the cookbook from appetizers to desserts. Samples of the recipes will be available, as will drinks.

Time To Sing!

Otter Creek Christian Church will host Terry Hall, a southern gospel singer, from Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Saturday, at 6 p.m.

A love offering will be taken.

Storm Spotters

The Brazil Public Library will host a Storm Spotter Training class at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 21.

The free training will include interpretation of cloud structure and radar images associated with severe weather.

The training is open to the public.

Candidate Forum

The Clay County Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum for the 2011 Municipal Primary Election.

The event will take place Thursday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m., at the YMCA of Clay County, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil. It will be in the Y Community Room.

Residents will hear brief statements from each candidates before a question/answer session will take place.

Crop For Cornerstone

Crop for Cornerstone -- a scrapbooking fundraising event -- will take place Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at First Christian Church.

Registration fee is $25, which includes lunch, dessert and drinks.
