Charles Thomas Griffin, 79, Indianapolis, formerly of Brazil, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011.

He was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Brazil, to Earl and Tressa (Sharp) Griffin. Charles graduated from Van Buren High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from Commercial Lovelace Trucking Co., and is a Past Commander of the V.F.W. Post 1127. Charles was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church, the ROMEO's Club and enjoyed racing, camping and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Anna M. (Smith) Griffin, children Becky (Terry) Watson and Randy Griffin, grandchildren Jamie and Breanna Watson, Josh, Nikki and Lyndsey Griffin. Charles is also survived by his sister Marilyn Wells.

He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter Meriah.

Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be held at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Speedway, Monday, April 18, 2011, from 4-7 p.m., with the funeral services beginning at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Chapel Rock Christian Church Building Fund.
