Organization to host social

The Clay County Retired Teachers will conduct its bi-annual Spring Social Tuesday, April 26.

The event will begin at 6 p.m., and will take place in the lower level of Riddell National Bank, 1 E. National Ave., Brazil.

A free dinner of barbecue chicken and pork will be served with various vegetables, salads and desserts. Coffee, tea and water will be available, as will door prizes. In addition, a raffle will take place.

The guest speaker at the event will be local author Jim Albright, who will speak about his book, "Last Guard Out."

Albright has spent 26 years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

He worked on the island of Alcatraz for four years, then transferred to Marion, Ill. From there, he traveled to Petersburg, Va., Terre Haute, Milan, Mich., and then back to Terre Haute, where he retired in 1985.

Those with copies of his book will be able to have them signed if they bring them to the event.
