Clay City baseball wins; Patriots top Knights in girls' tennis

SOLSBERRY -- Clay City earned its season victory of the season and improved to 2-1 in the Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference with a 6-5 victory on the road at Eastern (Greene) on Monday.

Brylan Jones hit a game-winning double in the seventh inning and got the pitching victory in relief of Kole Smith.

Zack Boggs was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the victory and both Tyler Bridgewater and Tanner Persinger went 2-for-3 at the plate. Brylan Jones was 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Clay City (2-3 overall, 2-1 SWIAC) plays host to Linton on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Northview girl's tennis

TERRE HAUTE -- Terre Haute North remained unbeaten on the season by sweeping Northview on Monday night, 5-0.

The Knights' junior varsity team had more success, falling 7-4 to the Patriots.
