Tri Kappa Associate Beta Group
The Tri Kappa Associate Beta Group of Brazil met on Monday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the United Methodist Church, Brazil.
A delicious dinner of two soups, chicken salad on croissants, cheese dip with crackers and cakes for dessert were served by the Sarah Circle women of the church.
The hostesses assisting were Tri Kappa members Kathy Witham, Marcie Raab, Veda Bussing and Elaine Stephans.
After dinner guest speaker Dr. Kirk Freeman gave an inspirational talk about characteristics that constitute an exceptional leader. He included excerts from his book, "Sweat the Small Stuff," with interviews from great leaders he and his son Jared collected. The book may be purchased on his website.
Next, the business meeting was called to order by President Sandra Henderson with Tri Kappa prayer, opening verse and song. The minutes were read by Mary Ann Froderman and approved. The treasurer's report was read by Kim Stearley and approved. There were no bills to be collected.
Next, several names were mentioned to be sent cards. Jacque Reberger, Vice President, will take care of the cards. Kathy Witham, Corresponding Secretary, read a "thank you" letter from the Brazil Humane Shelter for our monetary donation and the supplies our group sends every month.
Jacque Reberger reminded our chapter that we should send our donation to help an S.O.S. child go to summer camp. That will be taken care of at the May meeting. Installation of new officers will also occur at that meeting.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Brazil. Hostesses for Mary are Marsha Wyndham, Marian Harrison and Julie Houston.
There were two gifts given to members whose names were drawn by numbers. Mary Ann Froderman won a purple mum and Rita Robertson won a candle.
The meeting was adjourned with the Tri Kappa closing verse at 8:30 p.m.
