Candidate hopes to bring 'fresh perspective'

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

I am Tyler W. Hutcheson and I'm running for Brazil City Council At-Large.

I am currently employed at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College as the Technical Director/Stage Manager for the Department of Music and Theater.

I am a lifelong resident of Brazil and have been involved with several community projects and organizations.

I graduated from Northview High School in 2005 and attended Indiana State University for two years before transferring to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a minor in Theater and Film.

I have been a member of Clay County Search and Rescue for five years and served as the department's chief during 2008 and 2009. I have also been active with Clay County Christmas In The Park, serving as the lighting chair in 2007 and co-chair for the Christmas In The Park Parade from 2008-10.

As an active member of Community Theatre of Terre Haute, I served as the production chair for two years before being voted onto the theatre's board of directors, which I will continue to serve on until June of 2011.

I would like to thank my wife Lisa and our two children, Jake and Anna, for their never-ending love and support. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve my community and hope you will support me in bringing a fresh perspective and solutions to the challenges facing our city government.
