SULLIVAN -- The Northview Knights got rolling offensively, late in the team's first conference game, but picked up a 7-0 victory at Sullivan on Wednesday.
The game remained scoreless until the sixth inning when the Knights tallied six runs on the way to victory.
Craig Peters remained unbeaten on the mound, pitching six scoreless innings while striking out eight batters.
"We hit the ball very well tonight, but hit a lot of baseballs right at them," Knights' coach Scott McDonald said. "Craig was outstanding again tonight, he has 35 K's and one BB on the season with zero runs allowed."
Kodie Girton, TJ Decker, Zac Niehaus and Seth Lunsford each smacked a double and Curtis Grove drilled his second home run. Girton was 2-for-4 at the plate along with Lunsford and Conner Pierce was 2-for-3. Zach Hull and Joey Thomas each had base hits.
"Offensively early, we kept popping up having trouble waiting on their pitcher," McDonald said. "We made the right adjustments and hit the ball well. Defensively, we made some great plays in the field by (Andrew) Butts, Decker, Thomas, and Niehaus."
Northview 'C' team
The Northview 'C' team got a no-hit pitching effort from Austin Butts, who struck out 11 Danville hitters in a 9-2 victory.
Butts did allow five walks, but kept the Warriors scoreless following the first inning.
Denver Reberger was 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run, Tanner Wilson was also 3-for-4 with two RBI. Ethan Whitson drove in a run and scored twice with a base hit and Butts helped his own cause by going 1-for-3 and scoring once. Jacob Wallace brought two runs home and Bo Stewart drilled a double.
