Sara L. (Reed) Blair, 74, Casey, Ill., passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, Ill.

She was born April 13, 1937, in Terre Haute, the daughter of James and Mabel (Flint) Reed.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, David E. Blair, Casey, Ill., her three children, Jim (Tracy) Blair, Casey, Ill., Elizabeth Blair, Peoria, Ill., and Tim (Paula) Blair, Casey, Ill., grandchildren Matthew, Jesse, Brandon, Peyton, Austin, Audrey, brothers Charles Reed and Tom (Joan) Reed, all of Terre Haute, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sara graduated from Garfield High School in 1955 and married David Nov. 25, of the same year.

She held numerous positions with various companies in the Terre Haute area before becoming a full-time mother.

Sara taught Sunday School from her teenage years until her later years and took great joy in telling Bible stories to many generations of children.

She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Casey, Ill.

She also volunteered time to support youth in educational and social activities through tutoring programs and 4-H.

Sara thoroughly enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was fond of traveling with David to their favorite destinations, most notably any location that included an ocean view.

Family and friends will take comfort in knowing that Sara is at peace in heaven for all eternity.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Ill., with Mr. Gale Towles officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, at the Markwell Funeral Home.
