It's a rarity, but they did it.

The Brazil Walmart recently learned it was to be awarded for being accident-free for two years.

"It's very rare for a store to make it a year," Brazil Walmart Store Manager Brandon Wright told The Brazil Times. "For a store to go two years is pretty amazing. It is an amazing accomplishment, really."

Wright said there are 114 associates employed at the Brazil Walmart, which also recently celebrated 20 years in Brazil.

The Brazil Walmart opened in April 1991. The store will receive a plaque, which Wright said will hang in the store. In addition, he said he plans to conduct an "Associate Appreciation Day" Monday in honor of the employees, stating he planned to cook out food.

Wright said regional level executives were also scheduled to visit the store Monday.

"(This came from) just being conscious with every day activity and making sure safety is the No. 1 priority," Wright said.
