Alpha Omega Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa

The Alpha Omega Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa met April 4, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at Larissa Goshen's house. Hostesses for this month were Larissa Goshen and Nicole Keller.

President Larissa Goshen called the meeting to order, followed by the opening song and verse. Christy Casassa took roll call and read the minutes from the March meeting. The minutes were accepted as read. Mandy Slater gave the treasurers report.

The treasures report was accepted as read. Mandy Slater submitted a bill to be paid to the Indiana Game Sales for the purchase of bingo cards and two dozen daubers. Christy Casassa made a motion to pay the bill and Jamie Bell seconded it. Jamie Bell read correspondence.

A thank-you letter was submitted by the YMCA for Tri Kappa's generous donation to their Strong Kids Campaign. The YMCA gave Tri Kappa a plaque that will be displayed at the YMCA.

A thank-you was also read from the NHS senior girls of 2011 for the door prize donation Tri Kappa made to their "Wish you Well" program. Finally, several thank-you's were passed around to be read from the 2nd-graders at East Side Elementary upon receipt of their chapter book from Tri Kappa.

Standing Committee reports were given next. Jamie Bell gave out little perks. Nicole Keller and Christy Casassa celebrated March birthdays and Cindy Watts, Kristen Beasley, Megan Bayler, Danna Johnson, and Vanessa Paullus celebrated April birthday's. Nicole Keller and Cindy Watts won the Maurizio's gift certificate for birthdays. Roberta Weliever celebrated a March anniversary and Larissa Goshen and Sherri Stevenson celebrated an April anniversary. Candy was given out to Larissa Goshen for her anniversary.

Gift Certificates for the college students were discussed next. It was decided that money would be submitted from the general fund for this. Cindy Watts made a motion to give money from the general fund for subway gift certificates for the college girls and Meganne Holley seconded it.

Project committee reports were given next. Money and orders for Beef House Rolls were due at the meeting and will be delivered on April 15, at Jackson Township Elementary.

Bingo was discussed and Amy Jones reminded members to make a goodie bag to bring to Kennedy's Crossing bingo hall to sell for the bingo. Members were also reminded to bring tickets sold and door prizes to the bingo hall by 5:30 p.m. Tri Kappa Basket Bingo will start at 6 p.m.

The literacy project was discussed and all books have been passed out to the elementary schools with the help of Larissa Goshen and Nicole Keller. There was an article in the paper with a picture submitted to The Brazil Times.

Old business was discussed. New member forms were read again and members paid their fines owed. Cindy Watts made a motion that the money owed for the dance be used toward the bingo and gaming fund. Amy Jones seconded it. Prospective new members were voted on at that time.

New business was discussed. Larissa Goshen and Meganne Holley will be attending the State Convention April 30-May 1.

The closing verse was recited and the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on May 2, with location to be announced.
