Joan Aydelott, 90, Flagstaff, Ariz., formerly of Brazil, died Monday, April 25, 2011, in Flagstaff.
Born Nov. 3, 1920, in Brazil, she was the daughter of Roy and Neva Downing.
She was active in school plays, sang in school and church choirs and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Brazil. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1938, and attended DePauw, graduating in 1942.
After that, she taught music in several Indiana public schools between 1942 and 1984. She lived in Washington, Ind., from 1949-1984, and in Bonita Springs, Fla., from 1984-2007. For the last four years, she lived in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Aydelott, and daughter Deborah Aydelott.
Her son, Timothy Aydelott, Flagstaff, Ariz., survives, along with her daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
Her family will hold a service at their home, 9758 Lunar Drive, Flagstaff, Ariz., Friday, April 29.
