Washington Township Circle Club

The Washington Township Circle club met on April 14, at Rosalind Schopmeyer's home. Linda Schiele called the meeting to order at 1 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemaker's Creed were repeated in unison. Judy England gave the devotions of "The Glory Crown."

Roll call was answered by five members and one guest, Barbara Powell, telling a historic place you would like to visit.

Brenda led us in singing, "Here comes Peter Cottontail."

The treasurer's report by Doris Romas and the Secretary's report by Rosalind Schopmeyer were read and approved.

Judy' Health and Safety lesson was "10 tips to review your memory." Linda's citizenship lesson was on Sugar Ridge Township, org. 1854.

We chose lessons for next year. Plans were made to entertain Everwelcome Club.

Linda's lesson was "Keeping family stories alive for next generations."

The next meeting will be May 19, at the Family Table. We closed with singing the Homemaker's Prayer.

Refreshments were served and social time was enjoyed.

Jackson Township Better Homes Extension

The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club met on April 28, at the home of Norma Diel.

President Ruth Haas called the meeting to order with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Homemaker's Creed. For devotions, Rose Mary Price read "Horse and Buggy Days."

Nine members answered roll call by telling a historical spot they'd like to visit.

Shirley Koehler led in singing "Here comes Peter Cottontail," and "Happy Birthday" to Carmen Jackson.

The secretary's and treasurer's report were ready by Glenna Ogborn and approved.

Shirley's health and safety report explained how arthritis affects all ages. Norma's citizenship report covered Sugar Ridge Township.

At the May meeting, club dues and the leukemia donation's will be collected. Tickets for the Achievement Program, June 28, at 10:30 a.m., are to be purchased, also. Information for the open class for the fair and the revised by-laws were handed out.

Peggy Davis will present a lesson, "Stay safe on line," on May 10, at 6:30 p.m. Ruth handed out the lesson, "End of life financial issues."

The closing prayer was sung. Glenna won the hostess gift.

Other members present were Marilyn Bott, Lauralee Hawkins and Mary Kent.

The anniversary meeting will be May 26, at noon, at the Lakeside Restaurant.
