The City of Brazil is setting up an e-mail notification system for water-related happenings, such as boil orders.
To sign up for the notification, contact the Water Office at 448-1539, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Clay County Beef Cattle Association is seeking to promote youth involvement in the beef industry.
Any 2010-11 high school junior or senior, or college freshman, involved in the beef industry is encouraged to complete an application for a monetary scholarship.
Applications are available at the Clay County Extension Office, from Brenda Culler by calling 495-6471 or from Becky Butt at 864-2276.
Applications are due to Culler or Butt by June 1.
The Clay County Literacy Coalition will conduct free private tutoring sessions at the Brazil Public Library for adults who wish to improve their reading skills or would like to learn to read.
Pamphlets are currently available at various locations around the city.
Those wishing to take part in the sessions are urged to return the pamphlet to the Clay County Literacy Coalition, 203 N. Walnut St., Brazil, Ind., 47834.

Choir members needed
A Brazil Community Children's Choir will be formed to perform at the July 4 celebration at Forest Park Monday, July 4, along with the Brazil Community Choir.
Children ages 9-12 are needed.

The Clay County Friends of the Library will conduct a book sale Friday, and Saturday.
The event will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., each day.

The Community Theatre of Clay County will perform "Parlor Games," Friday, and Saturday.
Tickets cost $25, which includes buffet dinner. Tickets may be purchased by calling 442-6909.
Reservations are required for all performances.
Time To Clean
Clean up day for the Town of Carbon will take place from 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday.
Those attending are asked to bring items to the north side of the Carbon Town Hall. Help for those who need it may be available in Town Hall.
No tires will be accepted.
There is also a $5 charge for each appliance.

Crop For Cornerstone
Crop for Cornerstone -- a scrapbooking fundraising event -- will take place Saturday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at First Christian Church.
Registration fee is $25, which includes lunch, dessert and drinks.

The Clay County Humane Society will conduct a pet shot clinic from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, at the Forest Park Pavilion.

Those interested may come to the library and paint a garden surprise, which may be on display outside or indoors.
