BLOOMINGTON -- Northview's softball team hit the road Thursday and came home victorious after a 4-2 victory against Bloomington North.
The Knights fell behind 1-0 after the opening inning as the Cougars scored off Northview starting pitcher Sarah Phillips. However, she settled in and held the Bloomington North to just one more run over the next six innings.
Meanwhile, the Knights were able to tally a pair of third inning runs as the game went into extra innings.
In the eighth inning, Northview was able to plate a pair of runs in the top half of the inning and Taylor Carter came in to set the Cougars down to earn the save.
Alyssa Conrad was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk for the Knights and Carter drove home three runs and was 1-for-4 with a stolen base. Kindra Cox scored two runs in the win and had a base hit.
In the JV game, Bloomington North earned a 7-4 victory.
The Knights are now 11-1 overall, 2-0 in the WIC and face Class 3A 10th-ranked Edgewood in a conference battle tonight at 5 p.m.

CLINTON -- The South Vermillion Wildcats were able to score a dual match golf win against Northview at Geneva Hills Golf Course on Thursday evening.
The Wildcats were led by dual-medalist efforts by Brandon Bekkering and Logan Burdick, who each shot a 36 for South Vermillion.
South Vermillion tallied a team score of 159 with the Knights' scoring a 172.
Brad Smith shot a 39 to lead the Knights followed by a 40 from Larry Knight. Jacob Musgrave carded a 42 for Northview followed by Drew Atkinson's 51, Alec Coughanowr's 54 and Dylan Nesty's 59.
In the JV match, Northview won a 195 to 202 match led by a 46 from Austen Bowen followed by a 47 from Konnor Cheek. Sean Hauser carded a 48, Skyler Holifield tallied a score of 56 and Zach Moore had a 59.
The Knights place Saturday at the Bloomington North Invite at Cascades Golf Course beginning at noon.
