Pauline Lucille Johnson, 97, Greencastle, formerly of Clay County, went to heaven May 5, 2011, at Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle.

She was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Clay County, as the daughter of David and Margaret Bolin Gerber. She married Thomas Johnson, who has preceded her in death, in 1972. Besides being a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Pauline shared many interests in her life. She was especially proud of her work with her Brownie/Girl Scout troop. She enjoyed bowling for many years, winning the Indiana State Championship. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting mushrooms and traveling. In later years, Pauline was found inside with her flowers. She loved all animals, and was found many times with her small dog in her lap.

She attended Wesley Chapel and Croys Creek churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, brothers George, Ray, and Roy Gerber, and sisters Almeda Williams, Irene Buck and Lena Biggerstaff.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene Johnson, Carbon, son Gary (Shirley) Johnson, Martinsville, grandchildren William Struder, West Palm Beach, Fla., Tommy Johnson, Martinsville, and John Johnson, Indianapolis, sisters Eva Beadling, Greenwood, and Betty Green, Branson, Mo., several nieces, nephews and special friend Marie Parr.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday, May 9, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with private burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
