Clay County Animal Rescue, Inc., 735 S. State Road 59, Center Point, will host an Adoption Yard Sale May 13-15, which will feature supplies for a multitude of animals and numerous dogs and puppies will be available for adoption.
"We had a semi-trailer full of various animal supplies donated to us from area distributors," Rescue co-owner Chrystll Owens told The Brazil Times. "There is something available for just about every animal owner."
Some of the supplies donated include toys, leashes, harnesses, small aquariums, starter cages for smaller pets, like hamsters, and grooming materials.
"There is going to be a little bit of everything," she said. "There should also be some pet beds and smaller kennel cages as well."
Owens said a couple of other animal rescues will be participating in the adoption portion, with the cost to be between $100-$200.
"The price of the dog will depend on how big it is," Owens said. "However, included in the price is the spay/neuter, shots and some of the dogs are also microchipped."
According to Owens, her rescue will have 15-20 dogs and puppies up for adoption, and she encourages other pet owners with puppies to participate in the event.
"If someone has a small breed dog or puppy they would like to see adopted to a good home, they are welcome to bring them down," she said. "However, in order to be able to adopt the dogs out, they must be up-to-date on their shots, with proof of the shot records."
The Animal Rescue also participated in an adoption event at Tractor Supply, Greencastle, Saturday.
Hours for the yard sale will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, while the event will run from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Sunday, May 15.
"We will extend the hours of the sale if people continue to come," Owens said. "It is a great opportunity for animals owners to pick up some additional items for their pets."
Those interested in volunteering or wanting to adopt out their own dogs during the yard sale, should contact Owens at 812-605-0548.
