CORY -- An Owen County woman was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital Monday morning following a single vehicle accident near Cory.
According to a press release provided by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 6:55 a.m., deputies responded to the rollover crash on State Road 46 just west of County Road 525 W.
According to officials, David Fields, 19, Spender, was traveling west in a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer when he swerved to avoid an animal that ran into his path.
Fields lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway rolling the vehicle. Brittany Ambern-Anderson, 20, also of Spencer, was ejected from the vehicle.
Ambern-Anderson was transported via TransCare to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to the release, Fields, nor an infant passenger, sustained any injuries. However, officials stated Ambern-Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Other agencies assisting at the scene included the Cory Volunteer Fire Department, Clay County Search and Rescue and Air Evac.
