James M. Brackney, 66, lost his brave battle with cancer May 9, 2011, at Cloverleaf Healthcare, Brazil.
He was born July 21, 1944, in Clay County, as the son of Ernest and Bertha Emmert Brackney. He lived in Goodland, Ind., for the past 30 years. He will be remembered for his love of Harley Davidson's, antique cars, motor sports, fishing and traveling. He always loved his job as a cross-country truck driver and traveled all over the United States. He worked for Remington Freight, American Trucking, Gravco Trucking, P&P Transport and New Century Trucking. He will be remembered for being a wonderful friend and neighbor, and a loving brother and uncle. Jim was a very giving and generous person who was loved by many and will be forever missed by his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by sisters Judy (Ronald) Allen, Brazil, and Jackie (Charles) Starkey, Panama City, Fla., nephew Christopher (Robin) Allen, Terre Haute, nieces Robin (Brad) Hiland, Brazil, and Sarah (James) Fidler, Terre Haute, and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m.m Thursday, May 12, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery.
