She had been a resident there for several years.
She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Putnam County, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Becklehimer Boswell.
She graduated from Greencastle High School.
On Dec. 5, 1942, she married Harold Elbert McCullough. "Mac," as she referred to him, was a career military man.
Together, she and Mac traveled to many locations over the years and she settled into the role of an officer's wife.
She also worked in several offices in military and private businesses over the years.
They moved to the Brazil area in the late 1960s.
Helen was a charter member of the OES No. 80, member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Greencastle.
Helen's greatest attribute was a devoted caregiver to her family and friends.
Survivors include her nephews Dennis Eskew and wife Gayla, Brazil, and Rick Eskew and wife Genny, Lehigh, Fla., niece Sue Ann Huber, Fortville, Ind., brother-in-law Donald McCullough and wife June, Brazil, great-nephew Chris Eskew and wife Holly, Baton Rouge, La., and other extended family and friends.
Graveside services will take place Saturday, at 1 p.m., at Clearview Cemetery with Gary Scroggins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services also at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Clay County Humane Shelter, 8280 N. CR 125 W., Brazil, Ind., 47834.
