He was born Nov. 17, 1926, to Ralph and Lana Smith Stough, who preceded him in death.
Don graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1944.
He married Joan Garrigus April 10, 1949.
He was employed by Hulman and Company for 40 years.
Upon retirement, he and Joan moved to Florida.
While residing there, Don was associated with the Detroit Tigers Spring Training from 1998 to spring of 2011.
He was a former decon and elder at Brazil First Christian Church, Past Patron of OES No. 80, Past Master of Brazil Masonic Lodge No. 541, Past President, Secretary, Lt. Governor and lifetime member of Kiwanis, 50-year member of the Elks and Past President of the Oberlander German Club.
He served in various capacities on the boards of two homeowners associations while living in Florida.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joan, sons Larry Stough and wife Debbie, Jefferson, Ind., and Gary Stough, Carmel, Ind., five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Entertaining both family and friends brought great joy to his life.
He loved sports, going on frequent fishing trips and was an avid golfer, holding the enviable accomplishment of a hole-in-one.
Following his wishes, Don was cremated.
Memorial services in Indiana and Florida will take place at a later date.
