Something must be done

To the Editor:

Today is another day on the calendar, May 9, 2011.

Why can't we get the elected officials to do something about our water problems, not drinking water.

Every time we get a hard rain, not a so-called storm, all water comes down Lambert Street and into my garage. I've lost lawnmowers twice and I've been told this is a flood zone. (Not true, but I guess it could be called that without proper drainage sewers, which there aren't any).

Mr. Husband comes around, like a chicken with its head off, and we have another elected official who has about three different titles. Good job on Vandalia Street, but it serves no purpose while our place gets flooded and ruined.

We need to get a qualified engineer to check this out. This didn't occur until the last new so-called sewer job, like 40 some years ago.

Enough is enough.
