The Bowling Green School Reunion took place Friday, April 29, with 90 alumni in attendance at the Center Point recreation room.
The meeting was called to order by Carlene Dickison. After the welcome, Rev. Myron James gave the blessing for the food. As usual, the church ladies made a delicious meal.
After eating, Nadene Woolf presented us with a memorial for our deceased classmates. This past year, we had six classmates pass away that we knew of.
The committee then had drawings for some wonderful door prizes. They did two special giveaways this year. A small rocking chair, made by Ben Ogborn, was given to the person who was going to be a new grandparent. The wooden rocker went to Larry and Frances Williams.
Then, with all names back in the basket, we drew for two passes to the Feline Center, given by Jeanie Herbert. Jackie Harden Chiddister was the winner for the event.
Merl Willen got up and gave us some information. He taught at Bowling Green and enjoyed his years at Bowling Green High School. We asked for a special prayer for him as he found out he has an aneurysm on his aorta.
Several class members gave a little talk. Dr. Buell told us of his first days attending college.
Collection was taken. Envelopes were passed out so attendees could put their addresses on them. We still ask you to send us your addresses if you want a reminder for next year. Remember, it's the last Friday evening in April.
Everyone had a swell time visiting and seeing some pictures of school years past.
The tables were decorated with tin lunch boxes with a pencil and apple on top. Also, purple megaphones were on the tables, school busses also were sitting around. Candles were also on table and lit. All alumni received a small candle to take home, and some candy also.
Thanks for Carlene Dickison for the ideas for table decoration.
We received a phone call from Neil Keiser in Texas and letters from Janet Collins and Jean and June Arney.
