King's Brass to perform in area

SULLIVAN -- Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass will present hymn classics with contemporary flair at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 N. Main St., Sullivan, Thursday, June 23.

The event will begin at 7 p.m.

The King's Brass features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards.

The King's Brass, formed three decades ago, is composed of professional musicians from across the nation.

This year, the group is introducing its 14th recording, "American Mood." The CD features big band, jazz, spiritual and gospel music, all of which had their birth in the United States.

The project was recorded during nine different King's Brass tours between 2000-09, and was released through Summit Records (www.summitrecords.com).

A freewill offering will be taken during the event.
