Paul W. Love, 84, Seelyville, passed away at Kindred Hospital, May 24, 2011.

Paul was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Brazil, the son of Everett and Ferol (Tilley) Love. Paul graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1944. Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Army where he served in the Philippines, as well as Japan, before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He married Jean Hoke Nov. 30, 1951, she preceded him in death July 24, 2000.

Paul worked for Commercial Solvents, as a chemist, for more than 40 years, retiring in the early 1980's.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed woodworking and shooting trap and skeet.

Paul was a member of the American Legion Post 2, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972, Marine Corps League, and 40 and 8.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He is survived by his son Mike Love and wife Patty, Seelyville, two granddaughters Sara Smith and husband Bryan, Brazil, and Josie Love, Seelyville, two great-granddaughters Brynlee Jean and Sydnee Love Smith, sister Roberta Summers and husband Johnny, Carbon, three brothers John Love and wife Joann, and Donald Love and wife Jo, all of Rock Island, Ill., and Vaughn Love and wife Nancy, Greenwood, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services for Paul will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Friday, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Steve Bahrt officiating.

Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
