A single-vehicle accident closed State Road 59 for a short period of time Wednesday morning.
Although the accident is still under investigation, officials released some information to The Brazil Times.
Around 6:45 a.m., members of the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Posey and Jackson Township volunteer fire departments and Clay County Search and Rescue were dispatched to an area approximately a half-mile south of State Road 42 on S.R. 59.
Apparently, a white pickup truck was lying in the roadway on its side.
Initially reported as entrapment, once at the scene, emergency responders determined they did not have to remove the unidentified driver from the vehicle.
TransCare personnel were dispatched to the accident scene and checked out the driver. However, officials could not confirm if the driver was taken to a hospital for any type of medical treatment.
The highway was closed for a period of time to clear away the accident debris.
