The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Announcement

The Rotary Club of Brazil is searching for groups for grounds pick-up during the 4th of July Celebration for the mornings of June 29-July 5.

Organizations interested are asked to pick one or more days.

Pay is $75 daily.

Rotary will supply bags and disposal.

Typically, pick-up begins at 8 a.m., and usually takes one hour.

Community Choir

The Brazil Community Patriotic Choir will have practices Thursday nights beginning at 7 p.m., at Bee Ridge Church.

Sam Glover will serve as director.

All who can sing and love the country are invited to join the choir.

The group will perform at Forest Park July 4 during the Rotary Club of Brazil's annual Fourth of July Celebration.

Revival

The Terre Haute Friends Church, 2900 S. 9 St., Terre Haute, will conduct a revival through Sunday.

Events will begin at 7 p.m., each evening. In addition, a Sunday, June 5, morning worship has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m., with evening services at 6 p.m.

Evangelist Rev. and Mrs. Wesley Fish will be the special guest.

All are welcome to attend.

Yard Sale

Carbon United Methodist Church will conduct a yard sale Friday and Saturday.

The church-wide yard sale will take place in conjunction with the National Road Yard Sale at 721 E. U.S. 40, Brazil.

In addition to hundreds of items for sale, there will be soft drinks, caramel corn and brownies available.

The event will run from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, and 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday.

Fun-Run

The Subway/Rotary Healthy Kids 1-mile Fun Run will take place Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the Forest Park Pavilion.

The event is for children ages 5-12. There will be eight practice sessions.

Truck Pull

The annual Saline City National Truck Pull and Swap Meet will take place Saturday.

Pulling is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-ins set from 2-5 p.m.

Cost to attend the event is $8. Children 10-under will be admitted free. There are a limited amount of bleachers so attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

Fireworks

The Parke-Vermillion County Humane Society will conduct a fireworks fundraiser Saturday, at Sportland Park, Clinton, from 6-10 p.m.

Activities prior to the fireworks display include a pet parade and contest, pet pictures, dunking booth, dog obedience demonstration, face painting, music, food and a bake sale.

All funds from the event will go toward shelter operations.

Memorial Services

Memorial services at Calcutta Cemetery will take place Sunday, at 2 p.m.

Those interested in attending should bring lawn chairs.

Dinner In The Park

The Popcorn Festival of Clay County will conduct its first community "Sundays in the Park: Dinner and a Concert," Sunday, from 5-7:30 p.m.

The menu will consist of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade yeast rolls and desserts. In addition, iced tea and lemonade will be available.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

The event will take place at the pavilion in Forest Park.

Bicycle Ride

The Rosedale Strawberry Festival Strawberry Bicycle Ride will take place Sunday, in Rosedale.

There are 20-, 33- and 63-mile scenic southern Parke County routes available. Cost is $25 for registration, which includes food vouchers at the festival vendors.

Those interested in attending may register the day of the race at Rosedale Elementary School or register early at www.bikethebridges.org.

Meeting Scheduled

The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, June 6, in the lower level of the museum.

Vice President Deneta Campbell will provide a program in honor of the 67th anniversary of D-Day.

The society extends a special invitation to all veterans and if any veteran served during the invasion, they are welcome to share their story.
